The Difference of Ten Years
Good morning dear internet. It is amazing how sunny the world seems when my darling Boo is home. Also amazing, is the fact that he likes the look of green nipples. Who knew? But, alas, today is the day my darling Fric turns ten. It is hard for me to reconcile the image of her as a baby with the image of a pony-legged, blonde hair beauty that she has become.
Just think, ten years ago this morning, my boobs were being mutilated by angry little gums. Ten years later, she has big beaver teeth and is oohing and ahhing over her new ring that Daddy gave her for her birthday.
Ten years ago, the idea of bringing home a small infant scared the bejesus out of me. Today, the memory brings a smile to my face.
I wonder what the next ten years bring.
I can't wait.

They grow so fast.
It sucks.
I look at my children now and wonder what they'll be. A mother? A father? Happy? Successful? It's an endless worry at times. But the greatest of joys.
Happy birthday to your little one!
My oldest is fourteen and I'm torn between excited and terrified about the next four years. I have a feeling this will be teeth gnashing, fingernail chewing years!
It's sad how easy the waterworks come for me since I've had my daughter. It brings tears to my eyes to think that before I know it, I'll be thinking the same thing! Happy Birthday to your daughter!
I am so happy you are back. I hope that things continue to get better for you. Another blog that I read, Looney Tunes, is written by a wonderful woman named Loralee that I like to call a friend. She lost her youngest to SIDS and is going through some similar things. It just may help you to hop over there, if you haven't already. http://loraleeslooneytunes.blogspot.com
Ten years IS a long time. Wow. I guess I'll blink and my almost-6-yr-old daughter will be ten, too.
Happy Birthday to your lovely Fric!
Happy B-day to your little (well not much any more) girl!
So glad the green nipples were a big hit HAHAHAHAAA!
have a great weekend!
I AM SO GLAD YOU ARE BACK AND WELL!

well, I would have guessed the next 10 years would have brought another green nipple, but you took that option off the table by doing both.
Sooo...I am guessing shorter trips and more reasons to stay reunited!!
Happy Birthday to Fric! I hope she enjoys this milestone, and you and Boo do too:)
Happy birthday to your almost-grown-up daughter. I'm sure this one is very special to her. She will be a tween before you know it, then it's off to college.
I think you should take surfingmama up on her offer for you to join her mama internet carnival. You could tell the story of your piercings and the green nipples. That little story should enthrall all nursing mothers and take their minds off the nipple soreness they are now experiencing.
Happy 10th to Fric!
I get so sad with each passing birthday. I can't imagine how I'll be when ten rolls around. My girl is six and I want her to stay six forever. Is that weird?
Happy Belated Birthday to Fric.
The next ten years will fly by so fast, it'll make you whirl, even though it sounds like a long time.
So glad Boo is home and likes your piercings...hope he makes it home more often, or you may end of looking like that cartoon in the previous post. *LOL*
Take care and I'm glad that you feel like posting again. You haven't lost your sense of humor...that's for sure.
Happy Belated Birthday to your Fric. :)
